For those of you who didn’t know I live in Texas, where most of the time it is completely hot and humid making it where outside is the last place you want to be. I shared with you in my My Favorite Color is October blog that this time of the year is my absolute favorite!
This is also the time of year that festivals really start taking place. I love taking the kids to festivals, they usually have crafts for kids, jumpy houses and lots of booths.
In September we went to the Wine Festival in town, last weekend we ventured out to Scarecrow Festival READ: Sunday Funday and this weekend there is Wings Over Houston. (Although this isn’t technically a festival it’s a similar idea and gets us outside.) *Weather permitting, it might rain.*
The one I look forward to most is Christmas in Montgomery. We have gone the last several years, rain or shine. They do a parade all through downtown. There are old classic cars, the high school band, drill team, golf carts that people have decorated, the fire department, the local shelter brings dogs and cats looking for forever homes and of course what would a Christmas parade be without Santa?! Lol.
Above are a few pictures from previous years of the parade, cookie walk and the choir singing.
I guess I am a bit of a “small town girl” at heart. I love my small (but boy is it growing fast) community.
What time of year do you like best?
