What makes a blog successful? Is it the amount of time you spend writing, or promoting or is it how you write what it is you have to say? Is it the number of views or visitors you get? Or what about how many comments and likes? What about your number of followers? Does that measure your success?
I don’t have the answers to those questions for you simply because we all measure success differently. Our success in my opinion depends on what it is we are trying to achieve.
A month ago today I started my blog and along with that I set a goal for myself. For me, this is how I am measuring my success. Although I of course like any natural human being wish I could have done more and been better.
My goal you ask? I wanted to hit 1,000 views and 500 visitors. I’m not sure how I came up with the number, it just sounded good. Heck, I’m not sure if these would even be good numbers for your first month. Or if they are low. But that was my goal.
I wanted to share with you where I ended up. Because without you there would be no need for me to sit here and write this blog.
So, for whatever reason my WordPress account cuts over to the next day at 7pm. That being said, as of 7pm these are my “stats.”
Total Views = 1,142
Total Visitors = 533
I currently have 50 followers on WordPress, 25 on Facebook, 132 on Twitter, 51 on Instagram, 54 on Pinterest and lastly 4 on Bloglovin’ (I just joined Bloglovin’ a few days ago and I am still working on that one.) And yes, I realize some of these are “repeats” from one social media platform to another.
I’m not sure what to set my Month 2 goals at. Maybe 1,500 views and 1,000 visitors?
Thank you for reading along with me so far! XXX
