What is a tradition(s)?
1. the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.
“every shade of color is fixed by tradition and governed by religious laws”
historical convention, unwritten law, mores; oral history, lore, folklore
“during a maiden speech, by tradition, everyone keeps absolutely silent”
Every family has their own traditions and especially traditions the come during the holiday time of year. There are a few that come to mind for me, and Christmas wouldn’t be the same without them.
Our Family Christmas Traditions
I can’t remember the year when it started but it’s definitely become an expected fixture. On Christmas morning my dad puts on his Santa hat and he’s the one to climb up into the presents and start passing them out.
Like Santa’s “little” helper!
*Christmas isn’t just for the kids! As adults we enjoy it too!*
I’m sure like many families music is a must! Before we even get started we find the Christmas music channel on the TV and turn it up.
The passing out of the gifts and unwrapping madness doesn’t happen until we have music!
This is just the same when it comes to putting up the tree. We always put on music before we get started.
The Christmas Eve Gift
Our best tradition of them all… on Christmas Eve we all get to open one gift. Usually mom picked out which one, mainly because she could remember what was inside. Lol.
It wasn’t anything “big” but we always loved whatever it may have been.
I say it’s the best because of course as a kid, who doesn’t just love getting to open a gift early? Lol.
